Funeral Notice
A wonderful celebration of the life of Barrie. I have always counted myself very lucky to have begun my working life as a 16 year old in 1977 with the W F Coltman “family” as a junior typist clerk. And, yes Craig, we were all certainly made to feel very much a part of the family business. Barrie always encouraged me to learn new skills and to keep on striving for better, something I have taken along with me all my working life. Though I do have to say that perhaps the greatest skill I learnt was to decipher that handwriting when typing up correspondence :), always finished with the BCC scrawl. A better first employer I could not have wished for. May he RIP
September 14, 2021i witnessed today an honest and moving tribute to your day (and my Uncle Barrie and godfather). To have a laugh, listed to how and engaged and connected family works across many generations and through many hardships moved me to tears, made me smile and had me think more broadly about connections. I know getting together with our side of the family has been little over the last few years but please note we think a lot about the broader family and Barrie in particular. Dad i know has taken this hard but takes solace in that he was a rock for Dad through his hard times, and that Barrie had a full life. I would have really liked to be there. thank you so much for including us. Ben, Elise, cooper, Austin, Claise and Noah

September 14, 2021I have fond memories of a true gentleman Barrie, My first boss at WF Coltman as a joiner apprentice (1954) some 40 years later I was wondering around the Wimmera Fields & a voice yelled out “Nunn” on looking around to see Barrie Coltman a great guy that never forgot his employees, that meeting shared a lot of history & laughs.
