Gwendoline "Gwen" Blake (née Hemley)
Passed away peacefully with her family at her side on February 23rd 2021 at Cabrini Hospital Malvern after fighting a long battle with illness.
Loved and loving Mother of Angela and Vanessa, Mother in law of Justin and Luke.
Grandmother of Antonella, Zara, Blake and Flynn.
A woman who sacrificed everything for her family, a heart of pure gold and compassion. Free of pain and free to be with the wildflowers.
Our heartfelt thanks to the ICU team at Cabrini Hospital Malvern who cared for her with dignity and kindness and also to St John of God Ballarat and Dr. Kemp.
Our deepest sympathy to Angela, Vanessa and family. Gwen was certainly a unique personality, we both benefited from her lessons in French and Italian and enjoyed coffee and chats frequently.March 2, 2021
She was a very generous lady and will be sadly missed.

Teacher and friend.
Generous imparter of wisdom and lessons learned from her own life experiences through times of happiness and adversity.
Gwendoline was patient and kind and supported me in learning French over a number of years. I am still persisting in daily french lessons and often reflect on the guidance, tolerance and passion that Gwendoline had for students, languages, culture and friendship.February 28, 2021
A former president, committee member and valued Life Member of Alliance Française de Ballarat. Her knowledge of France and the French language was highly valued by her colleagues and students over many years.February 27, 2021
