Condolences, sympathies and respect to the family.
February 24, 2022I met Josh by chance in 2015 when I was visiting Ballarat with my daughter who was working on a floral installation at the art gallery during the Archibalds. I was at the Eureka museum and Josh was on the cash register. The eftpos machine was playing up and he became very anxious about it. We talked together for quite a while, about anxiety and depression and how it affects lives. I am sufferer, so are my kids. We had time, because the museum was empty at that time. He told me then that he had an opening at the gallery that afternoon. I didn’t know about him at all, but I thought I would go to his opening just to see and to add support. My daughter was in courtyard working while Josh had his opening. We looked at his portraits together. I was really moved by the experience and went over to wish him well before I left. I tried to say something encouraging to him and he pulled me in for a big hug. At that point I realised that this amazing boy was helping ME – when all the while I thought I was encouraging him. I have never forgotten that moment. I was shocked to read that he has died. I do wish all you, his beloved family, peaceful hearts at a time of such intense grief.
