Tributes
  1. Hi Dad, been a week now since you left us. Miss you big time already. Gave you a great send off though. Everybody is feeling your loss. But your loss has spurred some wonderful and funny memories that we have been sharing. Footy Season just won’t be the same. I know you are sitting up there proof reading this, so trying hard not to make a spelling mistake. Love you and thanks for being my Dad.

  2. A special Uncle P….remembered with love and many fond memories of him and also the family’s time in Sea Lake. Dad was so happy to have his younger brother nearby…very similar in their gentle ways and wicked sense of humour!
Of course there was always a competitive rivalry between them regarding the Cats and the Magpies and I’m sure they’ll both be amused, happy to see this continuing from afar.
Thinking of you Aunty Pat and all the family and sending our love.

    Rest in Peace Uncle Pete,
    Lynne,Bernie,Rob and family.

  9. RIP Peter. I had the privilege of knowing Pete in two capacities – first over many years working together at The Courier and secondly as member of Sovereign Hill when he ran The Ballarat Times. He was a very kind man, generous with his time and always interested in people’s lives. I send my deepest sympathies to his family.

  10. Of all the wonderful memories I have of almost 30 years as a journalist/sub editor at The Courier, some of the best were sharing a laugh and a chat with Peter. He was a true gentleman and nothing was too much trouble.

  11. Thinking of you Pat, Sue, Neil, Geoff, Rod and families.

I remember Pete as a gentle and cheeky fella.

I have vivid memories of him running a special print for us when we visited sovereign hill – it felt like he was a bit of a celebrity and we were VIPs. Then get took us to the Lolly shop.

Love and virtual hugs to you all at this time

  12. He was a lovely man, Pat, Geoff, Neil, Rod and Sue. As I’ve said, I fondly remember the lead type-setting he made of my name, which I overused as a stamp at primary school, much to my teacher’s and white school shirt’s detriment. My dad always spoke of him as a warm and fun-loving brother and he’ll live on that way in all of our memories.
