June 19, 2020Pete was one of the first people in my life to teach me to own my unique self. His presence in life allowed everyone to raise up as one and this will continue to flourish for many years to come. His legacy is alive in all of us and I am truly grateful that I was touched by his love, strength, wisdom and community spirit.

June 19, 2020Peter Mc,
A generous and loving man larger than life, who introduced me to “man hugs” 40 years ago – even though I’m not sure I was ready for them at the time!
You were an inspiration Pete, and you will be sorely missed by all who knew you.

Love from Nola and Eugene Sexton.Pete was a born mentor, supportive in every way. In fact, he ‘mentored’ Dennis and me into our marriage and now, almost 50 years later we are still having adventures together just as he predicted. He ‘mentored’ us into buying a beautiful block of land in Snake Valley which we owned for many decades. He made us laugh so many times and he cut through many layers of BS to see the world his way. The McDonald kids were always a reflection of his and Cath’s wonderful parenting. Good examples were set and continued down the line of children and grand-children. We hope that the grief that you, Cath, feel now does not continue. Rather, enveloped in the loving arms of your family, friends and community, you will still ignite those many sparks of kindness, love and support so identifiable as a ‘Cath & Pete’ trait. Our love to you all.
June 18, 2020Years of mentoring was our initial connection. And then your role at St Pats and your support of students was amazing. Loved the laughter and the stories. You will be missed by many from then till now, enjoy your reunion with Russ and Ruth and all those you love!
June 17, 2020When I think of Pete I also remember his big warm and enveloping hugs, it was such a safe place to be! His roaring laugh and cheeky, playful humor. He always had time for a chat and was always present and genuinely interested in what was going on in our lives. You knew you were Ioved and accepted and that had such a huge impact on our family growing up.

He was a man who had a heart for community, a deep faith and someone who cherished family and friends.
I remember the daily routine he had of jogging a fair distance with a garbage bag vest type thing. He was always a sight for sore eyes when he came back.
Our thoughts and prayers for Cath, Dave, James, Beth and family.
He will be missed dearly.
I picture him now hugging Ruth in his heavenly home, playing that awful music he used to love, taking long walks with Jesus and stirring up the saints. Bless you beautiful man.Deepest sympathy to Cath and the Mc Donald Clan. Pete was an exceptional man. Devoted husband, father, great friend and work colleague.Always full of enthusiasm, loyal, hard working wonderful sense of humour and a joy to be around. We will all miss him very much. My association with Pete commenced at St Patrick’s College where he was a school leader and an accomplished footballer. It was so good to be able to renew that association many years later.
We have very fond memories of Pete as a friendly, loving, gentle person who is now at peace with his beloved daughter Ruth.We are deeply saddened by the loss of our beloved Brother and Uncle. We’ll all miss his big welcomes and wonderful hugs.
We are especially grateful for his founding and running of Music at Maccas; it is a great legacy for our family going forward. It was always comforting to see him sitting in his regular spot enjoying the generations coming together sharing their musical talents.Rest in peace, Dear Bother,
